With an estimated 118 million active viewers across platforms, it is now the second-largest anime viewership market globally, trailing only behind China. What it lacks is original production frameworks to become a genuine and lucrative IP generator.

India has officially launched its campaign for a non-permanent seat on the UNSC for 2028-29. This will be India’s ninth time on the UNSC. The election is strict and process-driven. The campaign has been launched well in time to ensure election with the highest possible number of votes to signal global acceptance of India, now the world’s most populous country, as a permanent member of the UNSC.

There is a positive reset in India-Canada relations, and this is being strengthened through cooperation in security, trade and education ties. Both countries believe in the strategic value of the Indo-Pacific, and both have been at the receiving end of rough geopolitical treatment by the U.S. They see their salvation in putting the past behind them and deepening bilateral relations.

The ongoing and violent protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir have multiple reasons, but the most contentious is the demand to abolish 12 legislative assembly seats that are reserved for refugees from Indian-administered Kashmir. Islamabad’s civil-military establishment is unlikely to give in to the protestors: these seats allow them to hand-pick winners and control government formation in Muzaffarabad, bypassing local resident voters entirely.

The Manila meetings of ASEAN, held amid continuing crises in Ukraine and West Asia, have demonstrated that ASEAN centrality has not gone out of fashion. Neither the U.S. nor China, despite scepticism about ASEAN's effectiveness, wishes ASEAN institutions to disappear. As AI-driven electricity demand surges globally and the IndiaAI Mission rapidly expands computing capacity, reliable power is becoming a defining constraint on AI ambitions. Energy security must therefore be recognised as a core pillar of India’s sovereign AI strategy, not merely as supporting infrastructure.
