Ambassador Neelam Deo, Director, Gateway House, attended the Spain-India Think Tank Dialogue at the Ramon Areces Foundation in Madrid, Spain on 7 October, 2015. The Dialogue seeks to reinforce bilateral relations through interaction between think tanks of both countries.
The event comprised of three panel discussions, on ‘Global Affairs: Partnering in an uncertain world’ , on ‘Geoeconomics: Mapping the Changing Terrain of Geoconomics’, and on ‘Defence and Security: Common challenges and shared perspectives’, along with an opening and a closing session. Participants included scholars and experts from various think tanks in India and Spain.
Neelam participated in a panel discussion on “Geoeconomics: Mapping the Changing Terrain of Geoconomics.” Her fellow panelists included Dr. Gonzalo de Cadenas Principal Economist for Emerging Markets, BBVA Research, Dr. Partha Mukhopadhyay, Senior Fellow, Centre for Policy Research and Dr. Miguel Otero-Iglesias, Senior Analyst in International Political Economy, Real Instituto Elcano. The discussion was moderated by Ambassador Vikram Misri, Ambassador of India to Spain.
