South Asia Forum

South Asia Forum

At the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit held in Thimpu, Bhutan, last month, a mandate was given to create a South Asia Forum. The motive behind the mandate was to monitor, expand and implement trade policies in South Asia.

The first meeting of the South Asia Forum will take place in New Delhi from 7-9 September. It will be attended by representatives from the government, think-tanks, academia, media and civil society from all eight SAARC member nations.
