Shaantanu Shankar is a Senior Researcher for Geoeconomic Studies Programme. His research interests include India’s economic engagements in Africa, external actors in Africa’s political economy, institutional finance and development in African countries, modern and contemporary history of Africa among others. He holds a Ph.D. in African Studies from University of Mumbai, and a Masters in Geopolitics and International Relations from Manipal University. Prior to Gateway House, he has worked with the Research and Analysis Group, Export-Import Bank of India.
