Ajay Agrawal

Dr. Agrawal is one of the world’s leading economists on artificial intelligence. He is a professor at the University of Toronto and Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Boston, USA. He is author of the best-selling management book, Prediction Machines: The Simple Economics of Artificial Intelligence (Harvard Business Press) and editor of the scholarly book, The Economics of Artificial Intelligence: An Agenda (University of Oxford Press). Professor Agrawal serves as an adviser to the United States government as a member of the National Academies Committee on Science and Innovation Leadership for the 21st Century. Professor Agrawal is an entrepreneur. He is founder of the Creative Destruction Lab, a not-for-profit program based at five Canadian universities as well as Oxford University, to help inventors transform science projects into massively scalable and financeable businesses. He is co-founder of Kindred, an industrial AI and robotics company and co-founder of Sanctuary, a company building humanoid robots with human-like intelligence. He serves as a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Co. on artificial intelligence and serves on the Board of Directors of Genpact, a New York-based business process engineering firm with many offices in India.
