In the age of global economics, geopolitical shifts impact lives – be it students or businessmen – which makes it imperative to have a better understanding and appreciation of international relations.

We work tirelessly to create a platform for dialogue on global affairs, spreading knowledge through our pioneering research work and disseminating creative ideas that stimulate debate on the foreign policy and economic choices facing India. We hold regular in-house meetings which offer a unique platform for business leaders to interact with eminent thinkers and practitioners in government, policy, and business.

We are encouraging the ecosystem of such institution- building in India, and are regularly engaged with colleges and schools in the country and abroad. Among the schools that we have an institutional tie-up with are Manipal University in Karnataka and the Jindal School of International Affairs in Sonepat.

“What we are doing through Gateway House, through our research papers, is enabling civil society to engage in India’s foreign and economic policy debates. Our endeavour is to offer a viewpoint that is uniquely Indian, and to give voice to ideas on foreign policy that stem from a perspective rooted in India’s history” says Neelam Deo, Director, Gateway House.

“India sits in the middle of two global extremes: the extremely over developed West and autocratic China”, says Manjeet Kripalani, Co- founder and Executive Director, Gateway House. “With our 1.24 billion people, we keep the balance – whichever way we tilt, the world will also. Along with us will move much of the rest of the world that looks like us: aspiring, semi-literate, and transitioning from traditional to modern – and for which we are the gold standard. Our policies and engagements, therefore, can form the global, equitable middle.”

In short, our mission is to serve as a resource to all those who seek to better understand the world and the foreign policy challenges facing India. We receive no government funding and rely on support from corporations and individuals. We welcome any contributions that can help us in our endeavour and we invite you to invest in Gateway House as part of your Corporate Social Responsibility agenda.

Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations is certified under section 80-G of the Income Tax Act, granting the institution tax-exempt status. Our original certificate can be found here.
