The world is closely watching the recent developments in Ukraine, a crisis which unfolded in November 2013, following President Yanukovych’s decision to not sign an agreement with the European Union. For a country with a large debt, a $15 billion credit offered by Russia appeared to be more practical. After months of protests, Ukrainian President Yanukovych fled the country and a new government was installed. Most recently, Russia mobilized its troops to secure its interests in Crimea.
