World Organisation of Students & Youth Summit, 2015

On February 21, Gateway House’s Sameer Patil participated in a panel discussion on ‘Challenges in West Asia and Road to Normalcy’ at the World Organisation of Students and Youth (WOSY) Summit  held on February 20-21 in New Delhi.

Sameer Patil, Associate Fellow, National Security and Terrorism Studies was accompanied by Professor Aswini Mahapatra of Jawaharlal Nehru University and Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Joint Secretary, West Asia and North Africa division, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on the panel to discuss themes such as the rise of the Islamic State, Arab-Israeli conflict, cyber security challenges and India’s interests in West Asia and Persian Gulf.

The WOSY Summit, was supported by the XP division of the MEA and brought together 450 foreign students from across 60 countries.

Sameer Patil is Associate Fellow, National Security, Ethnic Conflict & Terrorism studies, Gateway House. Prior to this, he was Assistant Director at the National Security Council Secretariat in Prime Minister’s Office, New Delhi. Sameer has interned at the Indian Pugwash Society and the M. L. Sondhi Institute of Asia Pacific Affairs.
