On 29th September 2022, Dr. Ganeshan Wignaraja, Professorial Fellow for Economics and Trade, Gateway House, moderated a webinar on “Blue Economy and Blue Finance – Opportunities for Related Industries in Sri Lanka”, delivered by Dr Peter J Morgan, Senior Consulting Economist and Advisor to the Dean, Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI). It was organized by the Centre for Banking Studies (CBS), Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL). Dr. Morgan highlighted various trends and sustainable models found in blue economy and finance, and how Sri Lanka can harness it. He also provided case studies from different Indo-Pacific countries on Coastal and Maritime Tourism (CMT), fisheries and aquaculture, and renewable marine (off-shore) energy.
