Vietnamese President visits India

After less than a month of Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna’s visit to Vietnam, the Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang will visit New Delhi.

Apart from the $3.6 billion in bilateral trade between the two countries, Vietnam is also significant for India’s maritime security, most notably in the South China Sea.

Tan Sang will meet with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on October 12 and discuss a slew of issues, from defence cooperation to energy security and the upcoming 18-nation East Asia Summit in Bali in November.
