UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will attend Republic Day this year as chief guest.
Ahead of the crown prince’s visit, officials from the UAE government will meet in New Delhi where they are expected to sign a deal bringing into force a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE, which will aim to boost defence ties – including arms exports to the UAE and joint production of arms, joint defence training and military exercises.
The prince’s visit to India follows a visit made by Modi to the UAE in 2016, which was the first visit by an Indian head of state to that country in more than three decades.
