On June 7, 2019, Indian External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar travelled to Bhutan to meet with top leaders. This included Lotay Tshering, Prime Minister, Bhutan and King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. His visit primarily surrounded the importance of bilateral ties between India and Bhutan, as well as partnerships in the hydropower sector.
