From June 15-19, 2019, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Mr. Yury Trutney, led a delegation to India. Mr. Trutney met with National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan.
India and Russia are proposing to relaunch a shipping route between Chennai and Vladivostok in Eastern Russia which is rich in natural resources. The visit was also to help prepare India and Russia for PM Modi’s visit to Russia in September 2019 for the Eastern Economic Forum.
