On 23 March 2022, Damodar Pujari, Fellow, Climate Change, spoke at the symposium on Renewable Energy Promotion In BRICS Cities: Generating Opportunities for Economic Development organised by the Human Sciences Research Council, Johannesburg.
He highlighted the policy and technological gaps that need to be bridged for sub-national climate change actions to be successful. He recommended the utilisation of existing mechanisms like Urban Environmental Sustainability Initiative (PUESI) and BRICS Environmentally Sound Technology (BEST) for the promotion of green energy.
