On September 7, 2026, the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) held a panel discussion on the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement and its implications for regional and global security architecture. The session explored its strategic rationale, regional security implications, and the role of middle powers. Perspectives from Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Pakistan, India, Indonesia and Bangladesh highlighted varying degrees of interest and caution.
