The Minister of State, Minstry of External Affairs ,V. Muraleedharanhad held discussions with Prime Minister Dr Adel Abdul Mahdi and President Barham Salih. Matters of mutual interest and measures to further strengthen India -Iraq relations and regional development were discussed. The MoS also met with the Iraqi foreign minister and called for an early convening of the bilateral joint commission meeting. He also discussed measures to increase trade, investment and tourism including pilgrimages between the two countries.
He also had interaction with the President of Kurdistan region of Iraq HE Masrour Barzani. Both the leaders inaugurated a first ever bust of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary.
