Japanese Prime Minister’s visit to India

Japanese Prime Minister's visit to India

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda will be in New Delhi with Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to discuss the Japan – India Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). His visit comes in the wake of India-US-Japan trilateral dialogues, which concluded only a few days back in Washington.

Japan has pledged to provide 2 trillion yen (26.1 Billion US) to support ASEAN in the creation of the “southern corridor,” which would connect southern Vietnam with Myanmar. This should boost trade between Japan and India with the construction of roads and ports. The building of the southern corridor will help the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s strong steps taken toward the increase of Japanese businesses and manufactures establishing themselves in India.
