Indian President M. Venkaiah Naidu visited Vietnam on November 18-20, 2018 where he emphasized the historical and cultural ties between the two countries. He discussed boosting India-Vietnam trade relations, the shared vision of the two nations on the Indo-Pacific region and ONGC, which has been operating in Vietnam for the last 25 years, with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Phu Trong. He also met with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and addressed the National Assembly of Vietnam, being only the second foreign leader to be given this rare honour after Chinese President Xi Jinping.
