Indian Naval Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba was on an official visit to St. Petersburg, Russia from December 26-29, 2018, where he held bilateral discussions with Admiral Vladimir Korolev, Commander-in-Chief, Russian Federation Navy. The visit was aimed at consolidating and expanding bilateral defence cooperation between India and Russia. He also met General VV Gerasimov, Chief of General Staff and First Deputy Defence Minister of Russia & Dmitriy Shugaev, Director, Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation (FSMTC). The Admiral will also visit the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and deliver a talk on “Indian Navy’s Perspective on Maritime Security”.
