On 16 July, a Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism was held between India and Uzbekistan in New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Mahaveer Singhvi, Joint Secretary (counter terrorism), Ministry of External Affairs and Ambassador Farhod Azriev of Uzbekistan. The group deliberated on strengthening bilateral cooperation in field of counter terrorism through information sharing and mutual capacity building and reviewed the existing challenges of countering radicalization, prevention of use of internet in terror activities. Cooperation in multilateral forums including UN, SCO-RATS and EAG were also discussed.
