French Minister for Foreign Affairs visits India

French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian visited India from December 14-16, 2018. He first went to Mumbai where he met with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and then to New Delhi where he held bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. The two countries agreed to collaborate on counter-terrorism and in international forums like the Financial Action Task Force. The Indian government also inked a deal with France-based European Information Technology corporation Atos, and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of France, to procure supercomputers worth Rs 4,500 crore for academic and research institutions across India as part of the National Supercomputing Mission.
