Foreign Secretary visits Afghanistan

Foreign Secretary, Harsh Vardhan Shringla completed his first visit abroad since taking over as Foreign Secretary. He visited Afghanistan where he called on President Ghani as well as Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah. He also met with with Afghanistan’s National Security Advisor in addition to meetings with the Vice-President, Foreign Minister and Finance Minister. In the wake of the U.S.-Taliban peace deal, he conveyed India’s support for enduring and inclusive peace and reconciliation which is Afghan-led, Afghan-owned and Afghan-controlled.
