Foreign Policy Roadshow: CSR and trusteeship

Gateway House officially began its Foreign Policy Roadshow for students on July 27 at Kishinchand Chellaram(KC) College, Mumbai.

Rajni Bakshi, Senior Gandhi Peace Fellow at Gateway House, led a discussion on understanding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in India, evaluating some of the concerns about CSR and addressing its limitations. She also discussed how CSR can be taken to the next level by including the Gandhian principle of trusteeship within the scope of its definition.

The event also included a short presentation on CSR practices in India by Sarah Berman and Kelly Scharff, students of Lehigh University, USA, and summer research interns at Gateway House.

The event was attended by about 80-100 undergraduate economics students and faculty members from KC College.
