Foreign Policy and India’s Liberalization Generation

Foreign Policy and India’s Liberalization Generation

The goal of this meeting was to seek the views of a select sample of young Indians (aged 22-35) interested in their country’s foreign policy, and who could be the future foreign policy leaders of India. We posed several questions, such as: Do you believe in India’s current foreign policy goals? Does it feel relevant to your life? Do you feel it could be different? If so, then how? How would you like to see our foreign policy evolve? What would you put front-and-centre of the agenda?

Gateway House also hosted two speakers:  Michael Newbill, the Chief Officer of Economic & Political Affairs, US Consulate Mumbai and Major Probal Dasgupta, founder of Canopy Protection Services and Consulting. Both brought to the table their experience in the world of foreign policy, and discussed why it is important for youth to be active participants in their country’s foreign policy decisions.
