Foreign Minister’s visit to Sri Lanka

India’s Foreign Minister, S.M. Krishna, will make a three-day visit to Colombo starting January 16. During his time in Sri Lanka, Krishna will inaugurate a segment of the Southern Railway Project – built with aid from India – and is expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on housing for displaced peoples.

Krishna will be meeting with Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse and other representatives from his government, and will discuss wide-ranging issues, ranging from the age-old ethnic conflicts to bilateral trade.
