Internationalisation infrastructure

Internationalisation infrastructure

The lack of world-class infrastructure is a serious impediment to India’s growth. Internationalising India’s infrastructure development effort can bring in the required capital and technology. The government and private sector companies are making attempts but challenges remain.

How can India attract the $1 trillion required to build its infrastructure? What are the best instruments to invite foreign capital as debt or equity? How can India develop long-term relationships with countries like Japan, China and US to develop a platform for infrastructure collaboration? What is the role of foreign policy in improving India’s infrastructure? How can India collaborate with other countries to develop cross-border infrastructure? This discussion will focus on the financial and geopolitical dimensions of attracting capital to India for building infrastructure.

On November 5, Gateway House held a discussion on the topic Internationalisation of India’s Infrastructure. The discussion panel comprised of Raja Parthasarathy and Shiva Rajaraman and was moderated by Luis Miranda.
