2015 B20 Summit in Ankara

The 2015 B20 Summit was held in Ankara, Turkey from September 4 till 6. The event occurred alongside the T20 Summit and were part of the build-up to the G20 Summit which will occur in November 2015.

Akshay Mathur, Director of Research, and geoeconomics fellow at Gateway House, attended both Summits. He joined a panel as part of the sessions at the B20 Summit.

The panel discussed “Global FDI, and Capital Allocation around the World”, which focused primarily on the relation to trade barriers, and lack of coordination between governments on commonly agreed standards, such as one of the most important G20 projects relating to preventing Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) in the tax area.

The Summit participants and attendees consisted of political dignitaries, representatives from think tanks, international organisations, scholars, experts, and leaders of more than 1200 leading businesses from around the world.
