After reviving India’s flagging ties with Europe, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday struck an important USD 350 million uranium supply deal with Canada. The visiting Indian PM and his Canadian counterpart Stephen Harper unveiled the deal on the basis of which Cameco Corporation – Canada’s largest uranium producer – would supply uranium to the South Asian country over the next five years. A steady supply of uranium will help power the Indian nuclear reactors.
