Mumbai, 16 January, 2018: Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations launched the U.S.-India Task Force report, “Forging an indispensable democratic partnership”, yesterday in Mumbai, in the presence of task force co-chairs, Former Ambassadors Nirupama Rao and Richard Verma, task force members, and members of Gateway House.

The task force seeks a shared vision of bilateral relations over the next decade. The report, accessible here, looks beyond immediate challenges and establishes long-term goals in recommended areas of strategic co-operation, namely, economic opportunity and job creation, clean energy, defense, strengthening democratic institutions, educational exchange, and more.

Manjeet Kripalani, Executive Director of Gateway House and member of the U.S.-India Task Force, said at the launch of the report: “Just like the evolving, multidimensional nature of the U.S.-India relationship, members of the Task Force also represent a wide array of areas of potential collaboration: defence, business, policy, energy, diplomacy and more. India’s financial capital is aptly positioned to host this launch due to the interconnectedness of business with policy, and Gateway House, as a prominent foreign policy think tank in Mumbai, is proud of its continued close affiliation with the Task Force.”
