Solar and Wind: Worth the Cost in the Long Run

Below is the quote from Amit Bhandari,

Amit Bhandari, an energy and environment fellow at Mumbai-based think-tank Gateway House, told EI New Energy that plans to ramp up nuclear capacity, especially by importing reactors from companies like Westinghouse and Areva, are proving to be financially unviable due to high capital costs —and that not being part of NSG would make it even more difficult to pursue these projects. “As a result, the 40% target for nonfossil fuel energy that India has set may not be achievable. However, India’s renewable energy plans will continue nevertheless,” he said.
