Time to overhaul African healthcare

The propensity of Africa’s leaders to seek medical treatment abroad illustrates the little faith they have in their own healthcare systems. Given how countless Africans don’t have the resources to follow their leaders’ steps, there should be increased political will to make affordable healthcare available at home.

Black gold for blue gold? Sudan’s oil, Ethiopia’s water and regional integration

This briefing paper considers the case for regional economic integration in the Horn of Africa from an energy perspective. Challenges in poverty reduction, climate change, population growth and food security can be tackled with cooperation between Sudan and Ethiopia in spite of political hurdles.
