This speech is the first convocation address delivered by Rajni Bakshi, Gandhi Peace Fellow, Gateway House at the Development Management Institute (DMI) Patna on 18 April 2017, which also marked 100 years of Gandhiji's famous statement before the magistrate in Champaran.
Gateway House, in collaboration with the British Deputy High Commission, hosted a roundtable discussion with Sir Michael Fallon, Secretary of State for Defence, United Kingdom. After the discussion, Gateway House interviewed the Minister about the potential for India-UK defence cooperation in dealing with traditional and cyber threats, and hybrid warfare.
The past decade has witnessed an evolution of India-Africa relations especially since the implementation of Modi's Act East policy. There is also a growing realisation of the strategic and geopolitical value of the Indian Ocean region. This speech highlights the policies needed to strengthen India-Kenya relations and tap the wealth of resources in this Blue Economy.

Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs, Government of India delivered the Valedictory Address on Aligning Foreign Policy with Domestic Interests at India’s second Gateway of India Geoeconomic Dialogue conference in Mumbai, organised in association with the Ministry of External Affairs. Singh speech discussed the importance of the implementation of foreign and domestic policies to further domestic economic interests.
In his interview, Rear Admiral (Retd.) Ophir Shoham discusses Israel’s liberal cybersecurity policies and the high levels of export in the cybersecurity sector. According to him, transfer of technology is imperative for Digital India, as for a country to become digital, Infrastructure is most important which is protected by cybersecurity. In the defence space, he mentions the close relationship India and Israel share despite it being a sensitive area. He prescribes a collaboration between the two countries to build weapon systems that they can use to customize defense equipment for the Indian defense system and the Israeli defense system.
