Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will be visiting India. Modi and Wickremesinghe will be discussing the development of eastern port district of Trincomalee, an Indian LNG plant (which maybe a joint venture with Japan). India and Sri Lanka will be jointly operating the oil storage facility at this strategic eastern port town of Trincomalee. This visit aims to wrap up strategic deals and finalize MoUs covering a number of major infrastructure projects.
His visit comes ahead of Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka for the UN Vesak Day celebrations on 12th May.
