President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visit to India

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visit to India

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit New Delhi on April 30th. During his visit to India, one of the major focus areas will be India’s application for becoming a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG). India will also discuss counter terrorism with Turkey — a menace faced by both countries. From Turkey’s point of view, the presence of Fethullah Gulen’s supporters and sympathisers in India will be an important element of discussion, since Gulen has been accused of carrying out the failed coup bid last year. Besides, the two countries will also discuss strengthening economic and commercial cooperation.

Erdogan will be attending the Turkey-India Business Forum. During the visit, the agenda is expected to be mainly focused on bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
