The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee is visiting China on 24-27 May, 2016. The last presidential visit to China from India was in 2010.
The visit will begin on 24 May in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong, where he will be prioritizing the highlighting of business and cultural linkages. He will be addressing a business gathering as well as interacting with the Indian community in the city. He will then proceed to Beijing on 25 May, where he will meet with several members of the Chinese leadership. He will also be attending a ‘Round Table of Vice Chancellors and Presidents of Universities of India and China.’
