Mumbai Think Tanks – Catalysts for Ideas, Analysis and Innovation

Mumbai Think Tanks – Catalysts for Ideas, Analysis and Innovation

Gateway House and the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN), organised a roundtable for Mumbai-based think tanks to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing policy research institutions in the city.

The opening session of the roundtable, led by Jim McGann, Director at TTCSP, with Steven Bennett, COO at the Brookings Institution, included a presentation and discussion of national, regional and global research and policy trends, and how they impact think tanks in Mumbai.

The discussion focused on how think tanks can meet the challenges of operating in an information-rich, highly competitive and resource-constrained environment.  It also explored Mumbai’s potential to become a national, regional and global knowledge and policy hub.
