Briefing for Centre for Policy Development And Analysis on Asia Pacific and African Region

On 23 May, Gateway House held a briefing for the Centre for Policy Development And Analysis on Asia Pacific and African
Region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with the Consulate General of The Republic of Indonesia in Mumbai.

The meeting was chaired by Rajiv Bhatia, Distinguished Fellow, Foreign Policy Studies, Gateway House. Other Gateway representation included Neelam Deo, Director, Shashi Kalathil, CEO and Akshay Mathur, Director, Research and Analsyis, and Fellow, Geoeconomic Studies.

The Indonesian delegation included, Dr. Arifi  Saiman, Director, Dr. Muhammad Zakaria Al-Anshori, Vice Director for Asia and Pacific Affairs and Mr. Sigit Aris Prasetyo, Head of Sub Division for African Sub Saharan Countries from the Centre for Policy Development and Analysis on Asia Pacific and African Region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Indonesia; and Ms. Siti Fatimah, Vice Consul (Economics) and Mr. Vijay V. Tawde, Assistant (Economics) from the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia, Mumbai.

The discussions focused on the IORA, the prospect of establishing an IORA-Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), including, the possibilities, challenges and future of IORA and IORA-CEPA.
