From 3-5 September, China will be hosting the ninth BRICS Summit in Xiamen. The theme of the conference is “Stronger Partnership for a Brighter Future” which has on the agenda- discussions on economic collaboration, political and regional security and other issues which are a matter of concern.
The BRICS Summit comes after tense relations between India and China in the past few months over a standoff at Doklam. Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jingping are scheduled to have bilateral talks on the side of this Summit following the deescalation.
